She was my muse for one of my dossier in college, back in 2005. I just fell in love with her simplicity of style and timeless pretty face. But if you take a look more, she's much more than that. She has been around entertainment industry from the mid-90's until now.
Started as one of the intern at Sassy, one of the hippest teen magazine at that time and become the 'it' girl, indie darling, vintage muse.. you name it. For me she is timeless. See all pictures taken from different eras and she hasn't change a bit. Being so cool and not giving a damn.
What I adore the most is her attitude in the industry she lives in. She stays 'indie' while everyone went mainstream and trying too hard to be noticed or different. Yet fashion industries still wants her as their muse, designer, contributor, and Hollywood still wants her too even not in a blockbuster number.
She collaborate with Opening Ceremony to create few ready-to wear collections. She brings her easy-vintage-eclectic-stylish sense for public to wear.
Modelling for Uniqlo and some make up brands... She also models for Chloe, Miu Miu and MAC to name a few. See her video campaign for Miu Miu F/W 2012 here.
She has been vintage before it was even trendy. She's turning 39 this year. She plays in mostly indie movies like "Kids", "Party Monster", "The Last Days of Disco". For the big screen, she won an award on her role in "Boys Don't Cry". Now she's on HBO's TV series "Big Love", and plays on Broadway Theaters.
For me, she's a role model of constantly doing what you love the most specifically, that made you an expert in it. She enjoys low spotlight and not much gossips. Quiet personal life and still living your dreams altogether as you want it. Money and fame isn't always everything. Also her style, timeless. She knows what she likes and looks good in. Kinda I-don't-care but really, that guts is what you need in fashion. Kinda cruel but hey, stand up for your personality! Not too flashy, very vintage and 90's, I love.
But hey, I love colors so much. I think Gwen Stefani is responsible for that ;)
Pictures from lots of sources i forgot :( few of them are google, tumblr, Rookie, Tavi's blog, Opening Ceremony's web, and Style Bubble.
